$35.00

Black Wall Street was the nickname for the Greenwood District in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which was one of the most prosperous African American communities in the United States during the early 20th century. Founded in 1906, Greenwood thrived with a variety of Black-owned businesses, including banks, hotels, cafes, movie theaters, and luxury shops.

However, this prosperity was tragically cut short during the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921. On May 31 and June 1, a white mob attacked Greenwood, burning and looting homes and businesses. The violence resulted in the destruction of over 1,400 homes and businesses, and left nearly 10,000 people homeless13. The massacre is considered one of the worst incidents of racial violence in American history.

Despite the devastation, the community showed resilience and began to rebuild shortly after the massacre, although it never fully regained its former glory
