- Nelson Davis (1869–1888) – A former Union soldier whom she married after the Civil War. They lived together in Auburn, New York, until his passing in 1888.
Her Children
Harriet Tubman did not have biological children, but she and Nelson Davis adopted a daughter, Gertie Davis, in 1874. Gertie was raised in Auburn, where Tubman continued her activism and cared for freed individuals.
