Ceramic Mug, (11oz, 15oz) (GIOVANNI DA VERRAZZANO DESCRIPTIONS OF THE CAROLINA INDIANS)

$5.83$7.48

Giovanni da Verrazzano provided detailed descriptions of the Carolina Indians he encountered during his voyage. He noted that they were tall, well-proportioned, and had a dark complexion similar to Ethiopians. Their hair was black, thick, and not very long, often tied back in a simple knot. They wore minimal clothing made from animal skins and adorned themselves with various ornaments.

(Note on the use of Dark rather than Black: Albinos will often use words of their own liking as a means of hiding Black people in history, it all depends on the persons level of Racism. Comparison to Ethiopians of course ends all debate.

Verrazzano also observed that the Carolina Indians were skilled in agriculture, cultivating crops such as corn, beans, and squash. They lived in well-constructed wooden houses and had a strong sense of community. He was impressed by their hospitality and the way they welcomed his crew, offering food and showing curiosity about the Europeans
