$7.67 – $9.98
Claudette Colvin (born September 5, 1939) is an American woman who made history as a pioneer of the 1950s civil rights movement. At the age of 15, she was arrested in Montgomery, Alabama, for refusing to give up her bus seat to a white woman on a crowded, segregated bus. Her brave action occurred nine months before Rosa Parks also refused to give up her seat, and it was Parks’s subsequent arrest that sparked the U.S. civil rights movement. Claudette Colvin’s courage and determination played a significant role in challenging racial segregation and advancing civil rights. 🌟
