Biscuit Cutter:

In 1875, Ashbourne invented a spring-loaded biscuit cutter (patent no. 170,460).
This device ensured uniform biscuit shapes and sizes, revolutionizing biscuit-making.

Coconut Oil Process:

He also received a patent (no. 194,287) for refining coconut oil.
His process included filtration, bleaching, high-temperature heating, and hydrogenation.
Today, coconut oil is used in hair products, foods, and scented items.

Legacy:

Ashbourne’s innovations continue to impact culinary practices and everyday products.
He later moved to Oakland, California, where he ran a convenience store until his passing at age 95.
